The two proposed amendments to the constitution have both been defeated in Sligo- Leitrim and Donegal.
Donegal, recorded the highest percentage 'No' vote in both referendums nationally.
80.2% voted against the proposed changes in the Family Amendment in Donegal, with just 19.8% voting 'Yes'.
78.11% voted 'No' in Sligo- Leitrim.
In the Care Amendment, 83.97% of voters rejected the proposals in Donegal.
While in Sligo- Leitrim, 76.52% selected 'No' on their ballot paper.
A total of 48,850 votes were cast in Donegal representing a voter turnout of 40%.
Sligo- Leitrim did record a higher turnout percentage, however with 42.7% turnout with 39,221 casting votes throughout the consistency.
