Two GAA clubs in Sligo are to share €35,000 in funding.
The money, which has been allocated to St Molaise Gaels €10,000 and Castleconnor GAA €25,000 will enable upgrades such as lighting and improved surfaces.
The funding has been sanctioned under The Healthy Clubs Project which was launched as a partnership between Healthy Ireland and the GAA in 2013.
The aim of the project is to identify opportunities in clubs to promote health and wellbeing among members and the wider community.
In a statement local TD Frank Feighan said that “they play an invaluable role in fostering social connections in Sligo and by expanding access to their facilities they are helping to improve the health and wellbeing of everyone who uses them".
