Two hospitalised following early morning collision on N3

The N3 at Templenew remains closed this afternoon following a collision in the early hours of the morning.

Two pedestrians were injured after being struck by a vehicle.

The casualties, a male and female have been taken to hospital, where they continue to receive medical treatment.

Emergency services are continuing to work at the scene of the incident.

The road is closed for a technical examination and will remain closed until further notice.

Diversions are currently in place.

Gardaí are urging motorists to avoid the area if possible.
