Two men arrested following major cannabis seizure in Belturbet

Two men have been arrested following the seizure of over €330,000 cannabis in Belturbet in Cavan.

A search was carried out at a grow house on Wednesday, which led to the seizure of cannabis worth €334,000.

€44,000 worth of cannabis plants and €290,000 in cannabis herb was discovered at the property.

The seized drugs will now be sent for further analysis.

Two men in their 30s have been arrested in connection with the seizure and are currently detained under Section 2 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1996 at a Garda Station in the North Western region.

Gardai say that investigations ongoing.
