Two motorists arrested for drug driving in Leitrim

Two motorists have been arrested for drug driving in Leitrim over the weekend.

Leitrim Roads Policing were carrying out a routine traffic stop yesterday and discovered that a vehicle had no valid NCT, no proof of insurance or driving licence.

The driver was tested and was found to be positive for cocaine and cannabis.

The driver was arrested and at the Garda station it was confirmed that there was an active bench warrant in existence.

The driver has been brought before the courts.

Separately, Garda clocked a motorist travelling at 91kph in a 50kph zone. The driver was stopped and tested and found positive for cocaine.
