Urgent calls for survey on Ballinode crossroads in Sligo

There are calls for a survey to be carried out on the Ballinode crossroads in Sligo.

The area has been subject to several minor crashes, the latest a two vehicle collision occurring there yesterday evening.

Local Sinn Fein Cllr Arthur Gibbons believes more can be done to make the junction safer.

However, Cllr Gibbons says there are certain elements of the crossroads that can be deceiving and a review is needed as a matter of urgency:
