Victim of Sligo farming tragedy named locally

A woman who died after being struck by a vehicle in south Sligo has been named locally.

Vanessa Jones, who was in her 50s and from Carrickbanagher just outside Ballymote was fatally injured in the incident which happened at around 4.20pm on Saturday afternoon.

An investigation into the incident which took place in Clooncose is underway.

Ms Jones’ remains will repose at Perry’s Funeral Home in Collooney on Wednesday evening from 5pm until 7pm.

The funeral service will take place on Thursday at 12 noon in Ballysumaghan Church, Sooey with burial afterwards in the adjoining churchyard.
