Violent Roscommon burglary further highlights need for investment - Kenny

A Sligo Leitrim TD believes that the violent burglary in Roscommon this week further highlights the need for investment to prevent such attacks.

 

An investigation is continuing into the attack in Ballintubber in which a woman in her 90s and her two sons were held hostage while the property was ransacked.

In January, Skreen farmer Tom Niland suffered a violent attack in his home in County Sligo and remains on life support following the incident.

 

Sinn Fein Justice Spokesperson, Deputy Martin Kenny, who has previously called for more measures to deter aggravated burglaries, has reiterated that significant funding is needed in the areas of protection, detection and deterrent:
