Polling booths for the Local and European Elections across the North West have seen a steady stream of voters since they opened at 7am this morning.
People are having their say on who will be elected to Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal County Councils and who will represent them at European level.
Polling stations are open until 10pm tonight.
In Sligo, there are a total of 39 candidates across three Local Electoral areas vying for 18 seats.
The Ballymote Tubbercurry MD has the most contesting with 15 candidates competing for seven seats.
This is followed by Sligo – Strandhill where there are 14 candidates contesting 6 seats.
In the Donegal Local Electoral Area, there are 15 candidates vying for 6 seats while in Manorhamilton there are 12 candidates contesting 6 seats.
Finally the Sligo Drumcliff MD, there are 10 candidates vying for 5 seats.
A shake up in the makeup of all three Councils is almost a certainty, owing to a number of key departures by sitting Councillors.
Meanwhile, there are 27 candidates contesting just 5 seats in the Midlands North West constituency in the European Elections.
