Walker taken to Hospital following fall at Luke's Bridge

A walker was rescued following a multi-agency operation in north Sligo yesterday afternoon.

The alarm was raised shortly after 2pm, with Sligo Leitrim Mountain Rescue Team and the National Ambulance Service both attending the scene.

The injured woman was part of a walking group.

It’s understood that she sustained a lower leg injury following a fall at at Luke's Bridge near Benbulben.

After being accessed, she was transferred to Sligo University Hospital for further treatment.
