Warning issued in relation to new Covid scams

Warnings have been issued to members of the general public today alerting them to a number of new on scams that are in operation targeting individuals with false information regarding Covid-19.

One is falsely claiming that the recipient of the message is entitled to a Covid-19 payment while the second claims that the recipient has come into contact with somebody that has contracted Covid- 19.

Sligo Independent Councillor Marie Casserely has issued the following warning:
