Warning issued to landowners as hedge cutting ban ends

Landowners in the North West are being issued a reminder that they are responsible for cutting their own hedges.

It comes as hedge cutting season returns following a ban over the summer.

However there's concern locally that some hedge rows could now be causing a safety hazard for road users.

Donegal County Councillor Michael McClafferty says while the Council can sometimes carry out the work as part of other roadworks, ultimately, the responsibility lies with the landowners:
