Improvements to the water main in Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo have now been completed.

The works began in February of this year replacing 438 metres of cast iron pipes with high density plastic piping along Mountain Road.

The renovations are part of Irish Water's National Leakage Reduction Programme where the utility is investing €500m up to the end of 2021 to fix and replace aging pipes.

Speaking to OceanFM News, local Fine Gael Councillor, Martin Connolly says it now means a fresh, clean water supply for the areas.
