Motorists throughout the North West are being warned to prepare for difficult driving conditions following freezing temperatures overnight.
An orange weather warning is in place for Cavan, Monaghan, Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo.
Heavy sleet and possibly snow is expected across the north, with ice said to be a particular danger.
Local authorities in Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal continue to monitor the situation and have had gritter trucks out on the roads last night and this morning.
The Road Safety Authority (RSA) is advising all road users to take extra care when using the roads.
