75-thousand Irish and international Westlife fans will converge on Croke Park this evening for the band's first concert at the venue since 2012.

A major security operation is being put in place for the sold out gigs tonight and tomorrow night, with 150 Gardaí being drafted in to police the event.

Anyone attending is being urged to use public transport, prepare for the weather, and not to bring backpacks or large handbags.

Fans are being urged to be patient and expect heavy traffic around Croke Park this evening.

Gates open at five o'clock, with the four lads due on stage at half eight.Inspector Tony Gallagher of Mountjoy Garda Station is appealing to concert goers to take public transport:
