Widespread community organisations strike action taking place in Donegal today

Workers in thirteen community organisations in Donegal are taking strike action today in a dispute over pay.

The striking workers will hold a protest march and rally in Letterkenny at noon to highlight the fact they have not received a pay increase since 2008.

The action is part of a broader campaign by unions in other parts of the country who are also taking part in two days of rolling action.

SIPTU Organiser, Kevin McKinney says workers are struggling to make ends meet in the face of a worsening cost of living crisis.
