A Status Yellow wind warning remains in place for counties along the Atlantic Coast, including Sligo and Donegal.
The warning has already caused disruption in Cork where local authority staff were forced to start pumping floodwaters off a road following heavy rainfall.
Met Éireann forecaster Andrew Doran-Sherlock says the worst of the weather will clear up before midday on Monday.
