Woman charged with Sligo train disturbance

Gardaí have charged a woman following reports of a disturbance on a train that was due to arrive in Sligo on Saturday evening.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was arrested at Mullingar Train Station and detained under the Public Order Act.

The woman has since been charged and will appear before the local District Court in January next year.

Enquiries into the incident are ongoing.

The incident resulted in significant delays to the 3pm Connolly to Sligo service.
