A woman has been rescued from the Garavogue River in Sligo following a major search and rescue operation.
The alarm was raised at around 6pm yesterday evening following reports that the woman had fallen into the water.
Emergency services including the Rescue 118 helicopter, the RNLI, ambulance and fire service were all dispatched to the scene.
The woman was quickly located and was rushed to a nearby ambulance.
She was later brought to Sligo University Hospital for further treatment.
Her condition is believed to be serious but non-life threatening.
