A 20-year old woman is expected to appear in Sligo District Court this morning on charges arising from a hammer attack in a shop in Sligo town last weekend.
Another woman who was in the shop with her seven-year old daughter sustained serious head injuries that necessitated treatment in Sligo University Hospital.

It's alleged the attacker returned to the shop with a hammer after having been asked earlier to wear a mask.
She has been charged with assault causing harm.
