Woman's body recovered following major search in Twin Towns

The body of a woman in her 70s has been recovered from the River Finn in Ballybofey.

It follows a multi-agency search which was initially launched on Monday evening after a woman was reported missing in the area.

The woman's body was recovered yesterday afternoon and removed to Letterkenny University Hospital where a post-mortem is due to take place.

Gardai say that while they are investigating all circumstances, they are at present, treating the death as a tragic incident.
