Women are now fearful for their safety when it comes to using amenities such as walking tracks and Green ways in Leitrim.
The issue was discussed at this week's Joint Policing committee meeting.
The murder of Ashling Murphy in Tullamore has led to many women having concerns over their safety in particular those that may exercise alone on Blueways and Greenway tracks that are situated across the County .

He says the last thing that anybody wants is for members of the public to be fearful for their safety while using these facilities.
