Yeats Day is taking place in Sligo today.
It's a celebration of the Nobel poet's birthday.
This year, there's a focus on poetry, with readings in church yards and pubs, as well as music and visual arts.
Among the biggest attractions of the event every year is the traditional cutting of a massive birthday cake in O’Connell street this afternoon.

One of the organisers of Yeats Day, Susan O Keeffe, is in the midst of the celebrations now taking place.
