Met Eireann have issued a yellow weather warning for rainfall for Sligo, Leitrim and Donegal.
The warning takes in 15 counties in total with the forecaster predicting 20 to 25mm of rain with more possible on higher, inland areas.
It's also predicted falls of sleet and snow before turning to rain across some parts of the region.
There are fears of localised flooding especially in areas by the River Shannon with some of Carrick on Shannon's farmlands already under water.
The warning comes into affect from 8pm tonight and remains until 8am Monday morning.
