Met Eireann have issued a status Yellow weather warning for heavy rain for the entire country.
The alert is valid from now until 5am Friday morning.
Heavy downpours and thunderstorms are possible that will bring a risk of spot flooding today and overnight.
The forecaster is also predicting very strong winds this evening and tonight with the potential for coastal flooding.
