The current legislation which requires learner drivers to be accompanied by an experienced driver at all times is forcing young people off the roads and having a negative impact on rural communities.
That’s according to Leitrim county councillor and local election candidate Padraig Fallon who tabled a motion for a review of the legislation which was introduced in December of last year at yesterday's Manorhamilton Municipal meeting of Leitrim County Council.

The Drumkeerin based Councillor says the legislation "tars all young drivers with the same brush" and is causing them logistical challenges in travelling to and from college and places of employment.
