It’s reported that Yousef Palani is now being ‘barrier-handled’ in Portlaoise prison after viciously assaulting a prison officer.
The Irish Independent is reporting that the officer was hospitalised following the attack in which it’s believed that followed his request to Mr. Palani that he exit an exercise yard in the prison on Wednesday.
Palani, who was sentenced to two life sentences in October last year for the double murder of Aidan Moffitt and Michael Snee and twenty years for causing serious harm to Anthony Burke was initially imprisoned in Dublin's Mountjoy Prison.
However, he was subsequently moved to the maximum security Portaloise Prison after a number of disciplinary offences and being the victim of an attack by a number of inmates in March this year.
