The death has occurred of Hugh Devaney, Achonry, Tubbercurry, Co. Sligo in the exceptional care of the haematology/ oncology staff at Sligo University Hospital (13 th August 2024).
Predeceased by his parents John and Annie, sisters Nora, Mary & Ann and nephew John.
Hugh will be sadly missed by his heartbroken family, his devoted wife Anne, children Áine, Michael, Therese and Hughie. Sister Margaret, brothers Michael and Jack, sister-in-law Peggie, grandchildren Rachel, Ronan, Cara and Shay. Sons-in-law PJ and Liam, Hughie’s partner Irene, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends.

Rest In Peace

Hugh will repose at his residence in Achonry (F91XH56) on Thursday 15 th August from 3 – 7pm. House private thereafter. Removal at 8:15pm to arrive at the Church of St. Nathy and St. Brigid Achonry (F91X998) at 8:30pm.
Hugh’s funeral mass will take place at 12 noon on Friday 16 th August with burial afterwards in St. Nathy’s Cemetery Achonry.
Family flowers only please, donations if desired to the Haematology/ Oncology Unit Sligo University Hospital or the Mollway Neurology Support Centre Sligo.
