James (Jimmy) Byrne

November 18th 2021, peacefully, following a brief illness, surrounded by his loving family and in the tender care of the staff at Sligo University Hospital.

Jimmy will be very sadly missed by his sisters, Sr. Mary (Sisters of Charity, Walkinstown, Dublin) and Elizabeth Mc Goldrick, (Dromahair), brother-in-law Peter, cousins, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

Reposing at Shivnan’s Funeral Home, Ballyfarnon, on Friday evening from 6.30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Removal on Saturday morning to St. Joseph’s Church, Geevagh to arrive for celebration of Mass of Christian Burial at 11 o’clock. Interment afterwards in Corrig Cemetery.

In compliance with current guidelines, you are requested to please follow rules regarding church number (Church is restricted to 50% capacity) wearing of face masks and sanitising hands is essential, refrain from hand shaking, also adhere strictly to Social Distancing on all occasions, in and around the funeral home (funeral home walk through, please) on route to Church and cemetery, vicinity of Church and cemetery. Please keep everyone safe. Those wishing to attend, but now are unable to do so, are asked to leave their condolences on the link below.

To Sr. Mary and extended Byrne family I was so shocked to hear of Jimmy's passing. He was a lovely man and I enjoyed our weekly chats. He was known to many of the Calry Active Retirement Association members through our annual holiday and the tea dances in Gleann Community Centre.
