I want to extend my sympathies to John's wife Collette together with his children and grandchildren. I was very sad on hearing the news. In recent years we have exchanged findings on the Famine ship 'Carricks' and its links to the Ballymote area, and he gave me a tour of the townlands there that were mentioned in archives. May he Rest in Peace
