Michael Joseph Gabriel O’Reilly,

Belfast and Newtown, Bundoran, Co. Donegal. Retired Consultant Vascular Surgeon. 14th November 2021, suddenly and unexpectedly, at his home in Belfast, Devoted husband of the late Rosemary and loving father of Susan, Michael, Robert and Lucy. Adored grandfather to his four grandchildren Zoë, Alexandra, Martha and Zara. Much loved father-in-law to Alex, Jennifer and John. Sadly missed by his brothers Francis and Christopher and their families.

Mass of the Resurrection will take place this Friday 26th November in the Church of Our Lady Star of the Sea, Bundoran at 11am, followed by Burial of Michael's Ashes in St. Ninnidh's Cemetery, Newtown, Bundoran.

I only heard today that Mike had died. He was exceptionally supportive of me in my early surgical career. Both he and Rosemary were very kind to myself, my wife and children. I remember a Christmas party in his house in 1993. He invited all my many children and didn't mind when they slid down his stairs on a tea tray. Also in 1994, before I went away for a year in Australia, he organised a going away party for me in Pat's Bar, and personally arranged for a Jazz band to play.
