Sending Michael's family my deepest sympathy at the sudden and sad loss of such a loved and cherished man.
Although I didn't know Michael well he was such a kind and caring person. When my partner Paul Condrey died in September after a battle with cancer, Michael came with many others to send him off from the funeral directors in Manorhamilton.He made a point of coming over to talk to me and to hand me his phone number - telling me to contact him if I ever needed help.
When my woodburner wasn't heating the radiators in my old cottage I rang Michael and he found someone to help me straight away. He was a lovely man and that kind gesture of giving me a phone number helped me to feel a little bit less alone in my own sadness.
The funeral service today was very moving and beautiful. From the lovely singing, readings, memories and poetry from the family to the comforting familiarity of the Mass and a church packed with people who loved and respected him. God bless his soul and love to you as you grieve the loss of such a lovely man.

Very sad about passing of Michael, he was so chatty and a lovely gentleman. We often had great chats for hour or more at a time, and he told the best stories and we would laugh and be sad and laugh again. He adored his grandchildren and loved talking about them, he was so proud of all his family.
