Sr. Mairéad Murray (Mercedes)

Peacefully in the loving care of Cuan Chaitríona Nursing Home on 24th March 2021.

Mairéad will be sadly missed by the Sisters of Mercy Western Province, her sister-in-law Mary Murray, Nieces, Nephews, Nieces and Nephews-in-law, Grandnieces, Grandnephews, former colleagues, relatives and friends.

Rest in Peace Sr. Mairéad.

Funeral Mass in Our Lady Help of Christians Church Swinford on Saturday 27th March at 12 noon with burial immediately afterwards in the Convent cemetery.

I knew Sister as Sr Mairead, she and I were on the Diploma in Pastoral Ministry Course in 1988-89 at the DIAE, (she'd just retired from teaching around that time) and as a Cohort of Students on the Course we were seeking new ways of Ministry for The Lord. They were interesting times in The Church, as we sought to listen and reflect on God's life around us and to move with Him in new ways of being Church. But also, I'll always remember her parody on Cinderella and the Ugly Sisters as her Party Piece the memory of its rendition has made me smile so many times! Lovely memories to have. My deepest Sympathy to her Family and Community at her death. May she Rest in Peace after long years in the service of The Lord.
