Irish Republican Billy Pilkington commemorated at his Sligo home

A plaque was unveiled at the home of well-known Sligo Republican, Billy Pilkington, in Abbey Street in Sligo yesterday. Billy was an IRA General Officer Commanding in the War of Independence 1921-23 and also fought in our Civil War, before becoming a Redemptorist priest in later life
