A Sligo Leitrim TD is warning that unless the government tackle anti-social behaviour on trains the general public will continue to be fearful to use the service.
There were almost a thousand incidents of anti-social behaviour on trains last year.
That’s a 54 per cent increase on the figure of 2022.
Irish Rail says there it has doubled it’s spend on security.
Sligo Leitrim Deputy Martin Kenny is the Sinn Fein Spokesperson on transport.
He says anti-social behaviour on trees is all too common and unless it's addressed many people will continue to be fearful of using public transports.
