Half of the retained firefighters in the country took to the picket line on Tuesday, in a row over pay and conditions.
The action is being taken, after protracted talks between the workers and the Department of Housing failed to reach an agreement.
Among them was the Sligo and Fire and Rescue team who gathered at County Hall on Riverside.
