A Sligo Councillor has blasted the moves put forward by HSE chiefs which sought to limit the provision of post-mastectomy products.
Fianna Fail Councillor Rosaleen O’ Grady raised the matter at yesterday’s meeting of the Local Authority in Sligo.
The department of health earlier took the decision to defer the HSE's move to limit by 50% the provision of post-mastectomy products which include bras, prosthesis, and post-mastectomy swimwear.
A similar move was suggested in 2017, but former Health Minister, Simon Harris, deferred the HSE's decision following outcry from the public.
The Sligo Strandhill Councillor told Ocean FM news that it was a disgraceful move in order by HSE chiefs in order to cut costs.
