A Leitrim councillor says the new government Planning and Development Bill includes nothing that will tackle the anomalies associated with planning challenges in the north west.
The publication is being described as “the cornerstone for Irish planning for the coming decades” by the Minister for Housing Darragh O Brien
There is significant restructuring and resourcing of An Bord Pleanála, which will be renamed An Coimisiún Pleanála.
Also included in the plan is a new strategic ten year Development Plans for Local Authorities.
Padraig Fallon is a Sinn Fein councillor in the Manorhamilton Electoral area, he says that the plan fails takes into consideration the challenges that those looking to build in the north west face compared to other parts of the country.
