A Leitrim Councillor says the lack of business understanding among the elected members of the local Authority in Leitrim is not helping struggling businesses in the County.
Independent Councillor, Felim Gurn raised the matter at this week’s county council meeting in Kinlough.
The Manorhamilton based publican called for a reduction in the rates for hospitality businesses that are not trading seven day per week.
Councillor Gurn says the rates charged should be linked to the number of hours a premises is trading.

Spekaing to Ocean FM news he claimed councillors not involved in business do not have a true understanding of the challenges facing many small businesses.
