Public sector workers taking to the picket lines in Northern Ireland on Thursday are being urged to act in a "proportionate and lawful manner."

 

 

It comes as a trade union leader suggested civil disobedience, such as blocking roads and occupying buildings, could be the pay dispute's next step.

Health workers, PSNI staff and teachers, who are part of fifteen different unions, are gearing up for the mass walk out.

Fermanagh MLA Jemma Dolan yesterday warned that the industrial action has the potential to the bring Northern Ireland to a standstill.
