As calls continue for the restoration of the Western Rail Corridor, locally elected members of Sinn Féin have reaffirmed the party's commitment to the reopening of the entire line.
Currently, there are only plans to clear the existing rail line between Athenry and Claremorris, something that has left a sour taste in Sligo and the north west.
The party held a media event in Sligo yesterday where they called for the line to be extended to Collooney which in turn insure connectivity between Ireland West Airport Knock and Galway.
