Sligo Leitrim TD renews calls for greater support to be afforded to carers

A Sligo Leitrim TD has backed calls for carers to be provided with greater support.

The calls from Deputy Marian Harkin come as business group IBEC has proposed a fully-funded government package to aid carers through training and assistance.

While they have also proposed a national campaign with the objective of promoting the work of carers.

The Independent TD has a long history of working with Family Carers Ireland, and believes the package to be of crucial value.
