The Government has come under fire over an unseasonal high number of people waiting on trolleys.
It comes as Sligo University Hospital was one of the most overcrowded facilities in May with a total of 751 people awaiting admission over the course of the month
Meanwhile the latest INMO report also shows that Sligo is the third most overcrowded facility in Ireland today.
Nationally, almost 12 thousand people, including 300 children were on trolleys last month.
Speaking in the Dail, Donegal Sinn Fein TD Pearse Doherty lashed out at Housing Minister Darragh O'Brien over the issue, describing it as a national scandal.
