Anything that can improve road safety locally has to be taken seriously.
That's according to Sligo Leitrim Sinn Fein TD Martin Kenny who has been reacting to potential moves by Government to bring in retraining courses for drivers who repeatedly commit offences.
It's one of a number of initiatives reportedly being examined to reduce the number of deaths on the country's roads.
Training and education for problem drivers has been used in other countries.
