A boil water notice is still ongoing in Mountcharles despite the issue being fixed since Thursday.
Irish Water took a sample of water on Friday, and it is believed they sent the sample to a lab in Kerry, despite there being a number of labs locally who could have provided the service.
The situation is now impacting local businesses and restaurants, who cannot provide services while the water notice is in place.
