Fresh calls have been made for counties in the north west to be dropped from the “one size fits all” approach as it relates to the residential land zoned tax.
The residential zoned land tax has been planned for a number of years as an attempt to target land hoarding by developers and other individuals during the housing crisis.
Each local authority will prepare and publish a map identifying land within the scope of the tax.
Sligo-Leitrim TD Frank Feighan says a review to the approach is needed.
