There are calls for consultation in any potential move to turn The Yeats Country Hotel in Rosses Point into a direct provision centre to be stopped.
There’s ongoing speculation that the hotel could be bought for that purpose, after going on the market in November.
Hopes among the Rosses Point community, are now dashed as they had been anticipating that the hotel may be returned to tourist accommodation.
Fine Gael Cllr Fergal Nealon believes that public representatives need to be briefed accordingly before any potential sale is finalised:
