Donegal TD says arrogance of incoming Taoiseach led to yesterday's chaotic scenes in Dáil

A Donegal TD says the arrogance of the incoming Taoiseach, Michael Micheal Martin and the Independent TD Michael Lowry were major contributing factors to yesterday disruptive scenes witnessed in the Dáil.

Talks earlier today between Simon Harris, Micheál Martin and opposition leaders at Government Buildings managed to defuse a row which led to the Dáil being suspended yesterday.

A temporary arrangement has been agreed regarding Independent TDs who back the Government but want to join a technical group and secure opposition speaking time.

Ceann Comhairle Verona Murphy said that under the temporary arrangement the Regional Technical Group would be excluded from today's proceedings.
