A Leitrim Councillor says careful consideration would need to be given before any changes could be made to the Irish Trespassing Laws.
Recently calls have been made for Ireland to scrap trespassing laws so that Travellers and Roma people can access "culturally appropriate" accommodation.
The government have already said that they are not going to review laws that criminalise Travellers for living on public or private land.

He has raised concerns about unsafe housing, homelessness, institutional discrimination, and a mental health "crisis" suffered by Traveller and Roma people in Ireland.
