It's feared that more freak weather events will lead to further disruptions in the streets of north Leitrim.
Flash flooding in May led to raw sewage and excess water flowing the streets of Manorhamilton leading to damage being caused to a number of businesses.
It is believed that the town's water infrastructure is outdated and has resulted in strengthening the effects of the flood.
Local Independent Cllr Felim Gurn says a service plan must be in place to ensure flooding does not occur again.
